Garfagnana Chairart

Garfagnana Chairart is a ‘Community Arts’ project in Northern Tuscany. It encourages participation without censorship and without judgement. Over the first 10 years, since it’s inception, it has inspired about 200 mostly local people to create 400 works of art. This website aims to provide Information about Chairart and also to provide a comprehensive archive of all that has been achieved so far.

Garfagnana Chairart originated in Fosciandora (Tuscany, in the province of Lucca) from the small village of Treppignana. It was launched in 2010 with the intention of encouraging creative partecipation locally for artists and also for those who had no previus experience of partecipation in public art events.
